Woody Guthrie, interestingly enough, beats Leadbelly in the thread numbers game. There are more than 90 threads mentioning him by name. And precisely the same arguments apply, as a matter of fact. He was guilty of some appalling behaviour in his private life, which I have no inention of going into here. His music, like Leadbelly's, is truly fabulous.
