My Little Lily, aka Scooter died yesterday. :(
Lily was 12 years old, a small Silky Terrier who joined our family on July 13, 1993....our 1st wedding anniversary.
Although she was very small, she ran with the big dogs (all of our Labs) and bossed them around quite nicely.

Lily was my dog...a small dog just for me....one that ran to me instead of the Papa like all the other dogs.

This morning, before the sun was up, Pete and I buried Lily next to Homer and Molsy who died this summer. Amos, our cocker spaniel, brought Lily a toy and then ran in circles with Abu...rustling in the leaves. Murph, our newest kitten jumped in and out of Lily's burial spot, letting us know that it was indeed, a good spot for Lily. Geese honked overhead as the chickens clucked away with their morning gossip. The other dogs were howling as we covered Lily with a blanket and covered her with earth. It seems that we all are feeling this loss. :(
