'De' usually means the opposite (like when you deflower somebody you make them not flowered anymore), which would make the dead all un. I'm an American and I'm pretty sure I have not fallen off my perch. I just get quiet sometimes.

Also, ask a sample population from a other countries. They'll probably tell you that the dead aren't as irritating as we Americans usually are.
