The "dig my grave...." phrase appears in several lyrics, the most notable being "One Kind Favor" (Blind Lemon Jefferson) but I doubt the songs are related.

"No Grave Gonna Hold My Body Down" (lyrics copied below) may well be a related song. But the most specific Google hits all lead to this here thread we are a talkin' on. What we be needin', seems to me, is one of those fine scholars who hang out here to jump in....pretty please?
