You omitted to add that one of the biggest opponents the USA may yet have may be 'Gaia' - the earth itself - as natural disasters will cost the USA big time. War is a battle of economic attrition. Bit hard to fight back against hurricanes, tornadoes, and other ecological disasters.

The biggest driver in any war is always the rich guys, who manage to make profit from both sides. The 'USA big boys of business' will just move on to the next place to make riches: they are already moving into China.
