I have 2, both wood. I don't like the way the synthetic boards feel under the knife, and I'm not convinced they don't damage the blade. (In the garden and in the kitchen, my experience is that a really good cutting tool is worth paying for.) One is square and one is rectangular. I would like one more, smaller, thinner and lighter than the two I have. I don't keep one just for meat, but I scrub them both really well before and after each use.
