Subject: RE: BS: electronic Mouse deterrent - any 1 tried
Several years ago I bought two of these, one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom. (We get very dry summers here, and bathrooms attact "waterbugs" a cleaner version of the cockroach.)
After that, we didn't see any more waterbugs.

The unit in the kitchen seemed to help, though I can't prove it. After a while it began to emit a steady, audible clicking, and I threw it away.

Now it is fall, and we are having the traditional invasion of the home by mice, looking for a centrally-heated place for the winter. We've put out the mouse traps and will probably kill two. That should solve the problem for another year.

I checked tried to check Consumer Reports ratings for you, but I couldn't find the product. Apparently they have never tested it.

As for your gift, if somebody's place is overrun with mice and they are seriously bothered, give them the units, and don't wait till Christmas. It is worth 20 pounds to have a clean home. If it seems to be the annual invasion by two mice, tell them to put out the mousetraps. (Peanut butter makes great bait.)
