I have one made of absorbant cotton fiber over balsa wood that I use for raw chicken and I never wash it as it gets too heavy. I wipe it off with the butcher's paper and keep it in a plastic garbage bag under the sink. I also.........excuse me, I need to get to the bathroom pronto!!!!!!!!!!
