The minidisc (MD) format is on the way out. See other threads for discussion of Sony's policy regarding the format.

I recently borrowed a friend's MD recorder to record some classes, and it was near impossible to find blank discs. I recommend that you look into alternative formats such as ones that use memory "sticks" or flash cards.
