I saw Link Wray peform many years ago as opening act for Robert Gordon. Link was from the minimalist school of guitar as was Johnny Cash's famous guitarist Luther Perkins. Not a lot of flash, but certainly a lot of style.

Link's "Rumble" has been used for decades as the opening theme for the local creature feature show featuring Svengoolie.
