Don't ask the blood bank, ask the Red Cross. Their hands may be tied (so to speak), but it's worth a try. Unless the blood bank in your area is the Red Cross...some hospitals have their own blood bank, in others the Red Cross is the source of blood. (Well, people are the source of blood, but you know what I mean.)
