Dave the Gnome, I am not quite stupid enough to be unaware of Freeview. I left it out because I have seen the kind of programs supplied.

You get the terrestrial channels complained of by Mr Happy, plus maybe two or three half decent satellite/cable channels, then (surprise surprise) it's topped up with all the shopping, auction, and reality TV crap that I for one could well do without.

It is considerably below the standard of the cheapest, and most basic Sky/Telewest packages.

What is needed is a serious ass kicking for BBC and ITV program makers, and a return to the days when they cared about the viewers with more than one brain cell.
