Subject: RE: BS: 2005--Secret Santa Hints
OK, Sorcha! Pesky little Nor'Easter got in my way yesterday, but it's over now. So then, Sorcha and Santa, here goes...

1. Age: 49.
2. Gender: Female.
3. Favorite color(s): Blue, primarily. :^) Also aqua, purple, maroon.
4. Favorite books: American history, especially 1700s-1800s; biographies from that era; Gnosticism and early Christianity.
5. Books wanted: "War Letters" edited by Andrew Carroll; "The Mystic Christ" by Ethan Walker III; "The Johannine Gospel in Gnostic Exegesis" by Elaine Pagels; "Weird U.S." or "Weird Pennsylvania" (or any book in the "Weird" state series).
6. Favorite music: Singer/songwriter humorists -- any from your area that I should know about?
7. CDs wanted: "Some Days" by Lou and Peter Berryman; anything by Christine Lavin; anything by Spike Jones except his Christmas CD; "The Truth Comes Out" by Susan Piper; "Semi-Conducted" or "Toast" by The Arrogant Worms; "The Music in the Wood" or "Full Throated Abandon" by Tanglefoot; sea chanties.
8. Movies wanted: "A Star Is Born" (Judy Garland-James Mason) -- the RESTORED version with out-takes and still photos that bridge the "lost" footage while the audio of that footage plays.
9. T-Shirt Size: Large.
10. Collecting: Cat items (figurines, ornaments, plaques, suncatchers, etc.). I've been searching unsuccessfully for an Enesco figurine in the Calico Kittens series entitled "A Stitch in Time Saves Nine". I'm also missing the Christmas ornaments from the Carlton Cards/American Greetings series "Merry Mischief Makers" dated 2001 and earlier (featuring kittens Miss and Chiff).
11. Hobbies: Besides songwriting for guitar and trying to learn various other instruments of mine that have been collecting dust, I like to visit craft shows, flea markets and thrift shops.
12. Jewelry: Either gold or silver is OK, though I rarely wear jewelry and I have more than I'll ever use.
13. I'd like the 2006 "Mutts" (comic strip) wall calendar; but I'd especially enjoy any postcards/photos/books about the distinctive sites and/or eccentricities of my Santa's locality (for example, the huge statue of Amos the Amish farmer in front of Zinn's Diner in Pennsylvania).
Negative hints: Please, no gifts of fragrances (candles, potpourri, cologne) or food, because of medical and dietary restrictions. I don't have much interest in cooking, and cookbooks or recipes won't inspire me to change. The same is true of gardening; I worked for a seed company for years so if I never see another seed packet or bulb it'll be too soon!

There ya go, Santa. I apologize again for my tardiness in posting this. Better late than never, they say, and I hope they're right! I promise I'll be good from now till Christmas, and hopefully I'll only get 11/12ths of a stockingful of coal!!

Remorsefully,
SharonA
