actually Guest A, polls are in a sense, what left of Democracy in America - everyone in Washington reads them religiously..

Republicans were able to get support for the war in the first place, since most citizens still believed the Iraq/ 9/11 link and Saddam Alqaeda, a couple years ago.. (mainly because Cheney Bush and Rumsfeld kept repeating the words together in the same sentence)

This is also why Republicans are afraid, since most citizens now believe that Iraq was a mistake, and that they were misled by the WhiteHOuse. and no amount of 'lashing out' at the war critics is going the work.

The war in Iraq, has ironically reached the predicted 'tipping point' except the tipping point is in the US..

(Bush's approval ratings are at 35%, only 5% higher than Nixon at his lowest.. are they going up or down?)

if the truth comes out about that comment the Daily Mirror wrote yesterday, about Bush wanting to bomb Al Jazeera in Qatar, that Blair had to talk him out of. my guess is down down ...
