I wanted to name my daughter after my mum-in-law - she was Mabel Alice. So we called our girl Aliki, Greek for Alice. No such connotations for the name Alice in Greece or England that I am aware of, but Nessie and I did joke amongst ourselves that Aliki was "a leaky" baby. We 'fessed up when she got older (now 20). Aliki wasn't impressed.
