Despite the fog on Monday night about 20
stalwarts battled through to what turned out to be a memorable
night. The John Arbon Band was the attraction who turned out to be everything a discerning folk crowd could want, with a lively
programme which included something for everyone.

Amongst the many jigs and reels we heard Blind Mary,Galway Girl, a very haunting TITANIC and a fine tune written by John's father.
Steve Hindley sang well with Blarny Roses Grow, Whiskey on a Sunday,
Clare to Here, Muisher Durkin and Be a Rambling Rover.
Colin Greaves added a fine accompaniment on whistle ( his pipes
being restored)as did Julia ,Johns sister on melodean.

The regulars too played well with a difficult arrangement played on guitar of the Entertainer by Keith Mason, Three inspiring accordian
solos by John Johnson and Eric sang Venezuela and Farewell to Fiunery.

We were fortuneate on such a foul night to be visited by two extremely fine professional singers who had driven a fair distance to be with us. They just introduced themselves as John and John and proceeded to enthrall us with two well chosen solos and a hearty chorus song sung together. They left with a good impression of Ep'yh Folk and vowed to return on a quieter night to give us further songs
from their obviously vast repertoire.
We look forward to that day with eagre anticipation.

What had started out with bleak prospects, due to the weather, had turned out to be an excellent night
