What an amazing person Pat Morita was. It is sad to know he will no longer be around. According to this obituary at click here, he had quite a rough start in life, contracting spinal TB when only two years old; then spending nine years in a sanatorium until his family and he were sent to an iternment camp during WWII. He had extensive spinal surgery and learned to walk at eleven years old! I would never have known, watching him in the Karate Kid movies and other shows.
