Thread Name: When does Folk = Not political music?
Subject: RE: When does Folk = Not political music?
Just read Barry's song that was posted while I was writing the above and it reminded me of an anti-union song I've done for years — though Barry's is a lot MORE anti-union. It's Billy Ed Wheeler's Coal Tattoo.

I stood for the union
I walked in their line
Fought against the company.
I stood for the U M W of A
Now who's gonna stand by me?
I've got no home and I've got no friends
Just got a worried soul
And a blue tattoo on the side of my head,
Left by the Number Nine coal.
