I would thoroughly recommend "Tyne Folk", formerly the Ryton Folk Club, which meets on THursday evenings at the Black Bull pub in Blaydon, near Newcastle upon Tyne, 8pm onwards. THis club has some really excellent residents and has been described as one of the best singing clubs in the country (by Sara Grey) Also during University term times often has singers from the Folk music degree course at Newcastle university. There are also many other good clubs in the area.
