British television works at 25 frames per second.
Films are shot at 24 frames per second, but transmitted without modification, therefore run about 4 per cent faster than in the cinema (which is why the timings appear to be shorter than listed in cinemas and on american dvds) I don't know how much this will affect the pitch of music, but its bound to have some effect.
