And yes I stayed. Freedom is worth fighting for. The cops in Nevada rely on the fact that most tourists won't be able to stay and fight the ticket. That's why they only have ONE specific time in a week when they will see you. So most drivers will just pay the fine and go home.

But I was decidedly pissed as my tags were legal and I should not have been pulled over.

So if you got to Lake Tahoe, stay on the California side. Emerald bay is on that side and it's much prettier than anything on the Nevada side.
