How 'bout The Seven Per-Cent Solution (I've forgotten the author's name)? Not too long. Quick read.
Since I never know what's going to happen(noted while a parent of minor children), I usually have the reading project, and a crossword puzzle, or lined notepad for any letter-writing project, in my purse when I leave the house. For the trip to and from Getaway: 3 reading projects(2 of which proved not worth the bag space, 1 of which I finished--constitutionally incapable of putting a book into a trash receptacle, I gave the 1 away to Ferrara. And the next day, as I prepared to leave, my hostess gave me a copy of an Amy Tan novel, hardcover, which was absolutely fascinating!! Didn't quite finish it before I got home. This was a train trip--both ways.
Books rule. As good as the "internet" is, it's not as dependable for info storage as books. IM(never-to-be)HO         Tw
