Sorcha Dorcha is the patron saint of Pavees (travellers) and the name is as you say, about a being who is both of light and darkness, in fact, she is the Irish equvilent to the European Roma Kali Maria, who is Dark Mary - both the Virgin Mary and a darker side, because she embodies the concept we brought out of India 1,000 years ago, that being a saint who embodies Siva, goddess of decay and destruction and Ganesh, the god of creation.
