I do think, regardless of my tongue-in-cheek comments about tomatoes that they are quite bland compared to the old rutgers and marglobes we grew in the garden in the 50s and 60s. I notice when we are travelling that thae tomato taste in Italy is largely the same as we used to get in AMerica. Same goes with so many products now that are grown and picked for shipping and not for taste. Or maybe I am just getting whiney in my old age? jimmyt
