Martyn Wyndham Read, Iris Bishop (and the rest of No Man's Band), Jim Ward, Jim Farr, Broadwood Morris, Magog Morris and a cast of thousands (sorry if I've left anyone off).... and in the last couple of years, Martyn's grand-daughter has provided us with carol-singing of her own with grandad in attendance (a distinct "Ah" factor moment!!) in the carols at the end. It's always a very feel-good factor evening, and, yes it is at the Hawth in Crawley in the week before - they've had it for over three decades. It has, however, also established itself as a tradition at the Electric Theatre in Guildford over the last eight years - I know quite a few people who are not actually folkies who don't regard Christmas as having started until "Maypoles" has taken place! It has been a sellout in the last few years in Guildford - we originally only had it on one night - increased to two several years ago to cater for the demand!!
