Word is, Hollywood were interested in His Dark Materials but wanted to cut all derogatory references to the Church and the Authority. Pullman apparently dug his heels in and told them to piss off. I hope to God Hollywood don't get their hands on it, but it's difficult to see anyone else having enough money to make it.
