Azizi, Jackie Brenston's "Rocket 88" was written by Ike Turner (Brenston was a player and singer in Ike's band). It was also claimed by Sam Phillips and others to be the first rock `n' roll record. He recorded it in 1951 and used the profits from it to start Sun Records. Because of it Ike Turner claimed to have birthed rock 'n' roll, or at least midwifed it.
