The song was originally written and performed by Fraser & Debolt, a male/female duo from Canada that was recording around the late 60s-early 70s. The song is from an album called "Overnight Sensation."
Their stuff is not easy to find, but if you wanted to try, I'd start in Canada first in the used record stores.
As far as I remember, the lyrics went something like:
These dance hall girls
Know how to treat you right
They let you take
Their bodies but not their minds
There used to be a singer named Lisa something in Norfolk, Virginia, who used to perform this. I think she occasionally performed with a woman named Amy Ferebee.
