well!, I found a link or two, and there seems to be software which allows you to selectively decide WHICH sites, if any, you want to allow cookies, java, etc..from..!! (also email!)....

seems it is being maintained by a user group, but it looks good..and I'm sure there are other similar things...I may just try this, and will give a report
