John Henry was a real man. he was born in new jersey and was imprisoned for life on trumped up charges. he was then forced into labor to build the railroad. after he ided performing hard labor, he was buried on the grounds of the prison. this was next to a large white building. in the sand around the building, near the railroad tracks, many convicts bodies were buried and recently unearthed.
