Sorry LL above, I overlooked your comments about Mike Harding. I've checked his website out:

http://www.mikeharding.co.uk/

...and the CD you mentioned, 'Bombers Moon' and look at these words of Mike's, about the title song:

"BOMBERS MOON

Dedicated to the memory of my father, Flight Sergeant Louis Arthur 'Curly' Harding, a navigator in Lancaster Bombers, who died with his crew when his plane was shot down returning from a raid over Germany. Its also dedicated to the memory my good friend Jurgen Boch of Cologne, who was a small child in a bomb shelter in Germany on the night my father died, and to my mother who was a bride, a widow and a mother within the space of a year."

I'd love to hear that song, but so far I can't find any music samples which is a shame, but I'll keep hunting. I thought he mainly did comedy songs, but his 'non-comedy' CDs sound very deep thinking. Gosh! Even more to learn eh? AND he has a brand new book out called 'Yorkshire Transvestite Found Dead On Everest'...now there's a title to conjour with! ;0)

Many thanks for telling me LL.

And today I've got a whole week of new programmes to listen to. I'm sitting here now listening to Pete Coe talking about his favourite gigs and learning all about Fred Jordan.

I'd never heard of Pete Coe, (I know! I know! Hangs head in shame!....But I have now so don't panic!) ;0)

I got him muddled up with Pete Morton one day over on Radio 2, don't even know where his name came from in my head, must have absorbed it from somewhere, Subliminal Pete Coe Messaging! ;0)...and now here I am sitting listening to him and just lately he seems to be everywhere I look or read!

And Tim Moon is interviewing P J Wright, who I'd also never heard of, yes...hangs head even lower in shame!! There's truly no hope is there! BUT, panic not....for I've looked him up here:

http://www.hedgeofsound.com/

...and I find that he's part of Little Johnny England, (Doh!) among many other things he's been involved in...and I never knew that Miranda Sykes was in LJE either...not seen them yet..so hopefully I'll know much more about him when he's finished talking to Tim.

Oh heck..there is just SO much to learn!! 'Tis a good job that Radio Britfolk is 'out there' to teach me...I'm beginning to wonder how I EVER managed without them, but at least now I can learn at my own pace (snail's) ;0)...and absorb it all, put all the bits of the Folk Jigsaw together, slowly, piece by piece.

If only I'd been born into the 'folk world' life would have been so much easier...but then perhaps I'd not be having nearly as much fun as I'm having now, discovering all this extraordinary music.

And final word for today.....

Guess who became a Britfolk Babe yesterday then? ;0)
