I saw Hot Cross Buns in Sainsburys before Christmas. I do recall, though, in the days when I managed a C & C Warehouse for a while, I ordered the Christmas Chocs in April for delivery late October, and Easter Eggs about the end of September for delivery in January. We were selling them on retail, though, the corner shop owners in the '60's did at least have the decency to not start displaying them until a couple of weeks before Easter.
