I reckon, that is a very sensible idea, bearing in mind that there isn't a facility in Mudcat.
Anything I want in the future goes straight to my harddisk and the rest get deleted straight away.

Now which method works best between Joe's and John's suggestion for all my old PM's, I don't know. However if I give each idea a go, and see which one works best for me.
