Max -First of all timewise, I believe we agreed that we go live with the simulcast at 8PM EST (7PM CST) and run for about half an hour. Is that correct?
I have asked the locals to meet at 6:30 CST in the Quill to say hello, get acclimated to the room, make any last minute plans … and get a pint or two into their systems … just to loosen things up a bit!
I will send you a tape with two songs. Could you begin the Live Show half hour by playing one of the songs? I'll call in after that song finishes, and we can talk a bit - I'd like to tell you a little bit about the song, and then talk about some other stuff, too - eg. I'd like to tell you a little bit about what the Celtic Quill Wed night show is all about, who the crowd is and so forth. The Quill audience will be listening in to this conversation via the live link from my laptop to the House PA system. Then I'd like to have any of Dallas Mudcatters, who are willing to talk, also say hello to you and Bert. I know there are some who said they are trying to arrange their schedules to participate n the show. When we are finished with the call, I'd like to introduce the next song on the tape and have you play it.
The first song is called Midnight in Montreal. It's an "I am thinkin' about you" sort of song, set in the North East's best kept secret, Montreal (one really cool city). The second is an Irish in America historical song regarding the 6th Louisiana regiment of the Confederate Army. It is called The Fighting Tigers of IrelandThese are two songs that the Celtic Quill audience know well, and will be pleased to hear over the (virtual) air.
After that we'll kill the live broadcast to the Quill and use a speaker phone to speak to you and Bert from the stage (we have to kill the broadcast because of the delay). We will then have two of our regular Open Mic performers sing for the live audience (two songs), and the speaker phone will carry that signal to you. I will work to refine that speaker phone sound as much as possible. We will spend the afternoon at the Quill playing with the set up, so I believe we can get an acceptable result. BUT we will double check the sound before we do a second song (there's no use putting the Mudcat Radio 'viewers' through two painful songs if the sound ain't workin').
That should do it. I expect we will take up about half an hour with all of that. Does that sound OK?
