WYSuzie hit on the most important part of the job... Sanding... Yer paneling has a finish on it now and no matter how good the primer, if you don't have a surface thaat good primer will bond with, y6er gonna have the new paint peel...

So yer gonna have to sand it all... Get a drywall sanded on a stick and sand, sand, sand...

Now, yer ready to start painting and don't use a short nap roller cover... Use a 3/8 of 1/2 nap... This will get into them groves that you see every 6 inches or so....
