SINSULL, that icky green is all the rage on the current decorating shows. It reminds me of the perfectly awful 1950 chartruse craze.


Rapaire, You might expect I take a different tack...

I use a paint sprayer. I start at a far upper corner with the basic but very light toned color. As I spread out gradually headed for the entrance to the room CEILING AND ALL, I keep adding the dark tone a wee bit at a time so by the time I reach the entrance the color is all deep and dark.

One session does it. BElieve me the paint is thick and takes weeks to lose all the oder but there is no bleed through.

When you walk into the room it looks bright but as you leave the room the gradation lends an interesting depth and distance illusion. I put a torch lamp at the corner of the room where I started with the lightest color so it always looks like the lamp is lit whether it is turned on or not.
