There is one that "works". It tastes awful, but, it works.

Unfortunately, they don't make the same old cough drops they use to.... too effective apparently. I used to "stick" a buckley's cough drop on the back of my incisor teeth and sleep all night without coughing when I was a kid. Ya can't get em anymore. Apparently, they worked.
