The most popular version of the song was recorded by Les Paul and Mary Ford. It was recorded for Capitol Records and issued as catalog number 2486. The song reached #1 on both the Cash Box and Billboard charts.
In 1966, a recording was made of the song by The McGuire Sisters.

I knew I remembered it as a popular song. I probably heard the Les Paul/Mary Ford version.
