I do hope that the Dave Bryant Wake went with much joy and reminiscances - I was very sorry to miss it but had another project...
I went to Straw Bear which was GREAT too, but my main reason for going was to visit my father's grave, which is in March, near Whittlesey, which I have not seen since he died in 2003
Whilst there, I paid tribute to the FIVE persons which I knew personally, who died in 2005:
Let us not forget:
CHRIS GORNIAK: whose almost perfect rendition of "Blessed Quietness" will leave the folk scene with a vast hiatus. a Great guy, and you can still see a photo of him on AlanWW 's photo on Mudcat, thanks for that Alan.
RAY GENT: of Good Easter Molly, died in May, a quiet man, very nice, and friendly - sad to see him go ...
RAY of Ongar: A dear old gent, brilliant mouth-organ player, along with lots of other instruments - who gave me LOTs of encouragement when I first became a folkie (1999)
MIKE WATSON: of Maldon
UUUG my time is running out at Library will contine in a mo ... Jo
