I think everybody needs to take a deep breath and get a little perspective here. Kat, I think you are a wonderful person, but I believe you overreacted to this. A simple response like, "Very funny. Signed, the real Katlaughing" would have made your point and not given the anonymous poster all the pleasure I'm sure he/she got from your actual response.

And, to "the one who perpertated this", there are pranks and there are pranks, and this one was mean-spirited, in a way that does offend many of the people who form this community. You aren't the only one to have figured out this "big flaw in the Mudcat system." There's a similar "flaw" in the traffic control system of every city and town: cars don't automatically stop when the light is red. Those of us who drive cars depend on other people to do the right thing. I'm glad you apologized. Giving your name would have been nice, too.

And everybody, please turn the volume down a bit. Yes, it's unnerving and offensive when someone uses someone else's name to post something that reflects badly on you. And it makes you angry. But let's not blow it out of proportion. Let's save our righteous anger for the _real_ crimes that blight the world, and let these little ones go with humor and forbearing. I'm not generally one to preach, but this forum and this community mean a lot to me here in the middle of the ocean, and I think it's a good place to start to work for peace.
