Thread Name: BS: Sometimes I feel
Subject: RE: BS: Sometimes I feel
When I started this thread, I was thinking of songs or sayings that started with the phrase "Sometimes I feel". But I love how threads evolve, and I love exploring the different meanings words have, and the different ways words are used {maybe those two mean the same thing, but maybe not}.

I just realized that I did what Peace did even before Peace did it:

See Alba's 15 Jan 06 - 10:14 AM "I feel pretty post" and my 16 Jan 06 - 07:35 AM post that includes the song "I feel pretty." I know I read Alba's post, but I forgot that I read it.

Oopsie daisy!

Here's another way the word "feel" is used.

"I feel you" {as in "I feel, you man" or "I'm feelin you" or "Are you feelin me on this one?} are sayings that come from hip-hop culture. "Feelin" in these contexts means being empathetic, and understanding the person's point of view, or approving of what the person said, or does. It's interesting to me that "I feel you" took the place of "I hear you" {maybe because Verizon's cell phone company co-opted the saying and changed it to "Can you hear me now?".

Though I'm not a fan of hip-hop music, I love the creativity of hip-hop language practices. I'm really feelin it.
