I'm sitting here looking longingly at my beautiful bombarde - I had stroke and can't play the thing now. It was made by Camac and I saw it in a music shop in Lorient, Brittany. The most beautiful sound I ever heard was a bombarde player and a biniou (small high-pitched bagpipe) player tuning up for their first stint at a fest-noz - just bloody marvellous!
