So far there's no further progress of the fires in our direction. I worry about our friend who has a wildlife shelter in the heart of the burning area. She's holding on with a house full of kangaroos, lizards and possums. Last week she spent her daylight hours searching a burnt area for injured animals. It's hard to keep your focus on the few you can help but that's what you have to do. As soon as we can we'll try to get to her with whatever help we can give.
Most (if not all) of the many fires burning in the State were deliberatly lit it seems. Our nearest may have started with a lightning strike but we all have our doubts. The sun turned to blood this afternoon. For now it's a bit cooler.
