Good for Kerry
Sammy boy is not right for our country but more than he once again will further throw the balance off. The Justices aren't supposed to be all one side or politically allied.
That makes for a pretty thin soup, one you could read through. They'd be better off as free thinkers & scholars of the law that they are suppose to interrupt. The difference in each Justice is the court's biggest guarantee in giving the people the best decisions. If it's weighed down to political parties we're in a world of shit, no matter which swings it. Faith based or issued based ideologies is not prerequisites to sit on the bench. Its intelligence, forethought/afterthought, fairness, justice, equality, common sense, a willingness to listen to other scholars in the field & to the people & a loyalty to the constitution above private or political interests, that should be what's questioned of a nominee. The leaders, IMHO, should be listened also but lastly. If it keeps on track, the way it is & is heading the Supreme Court will not deal out good or great justice but will just be a rubber stamp for those in power who can say "just U.S.". If it takes a fillibuster so be it. If our president would start choosing Justices for the above reasons instead of for his own & his party's personal & politcial aggendas, maybe then there wouldn't be a need for a fillibuster

Hi Bobert
I'd like to correct your statement "sure, he can give a decent speech". He has never made one decent speech & IMHO has never given even a good or a fair one. It's hard to watch & hear him speak at all. It's worse when he speaks along side of others who have a command of the English language. What's even more horrifying is when he's speaking along side of a foreign diplomat who speaks English as a 2nd or 3rd language & Bush is the one who's not completing sentences or mid stream he's off on a different tangent or making sense. I sat in the transplant waiting room last Thursday, probably 15 or so patients plus staff where listening to Bush. These are people from all walks of life the only thing in common were our transplants. I was pretty surprised when almost all had something to say (none positive) or shake their heads & a number found him amusing. Hardly anyone listened through the entire speech but most were very interested in the Q & A portion & was there the most negative reaction from the group was heard. He can no longer lean on his slick stic any more.
