This is not meant to be a facetious point but one we should consider seriously.
Of the 25 labour MPs who voted for freedom of speech and against the Govt only two were women. Now that does not represent anywhere near the percentage figure of labour women MPs. The question is why did they vote with the Govt in such numbers. Do the Whips cow them more than the men? Are they just time-servers? Is dictatorship facilitated by getting more women than men elected? And how does this affect your thinking about all female candidacy lists?
