Here at 2,300 feet in the Sierra Foothills, we're lucky to get a storm with two or three inches of snow, maybe once a year. Otherwise, it melts before it hits the ground. We have some magnificent, clear winter days when we can see mountains capped with heavy coats of snow. Tomorrow afternoon, our stretch of Interstate 80 will have chunks of snow all over it, dropped from the vehicles of skiers going "back down the hill." We've had lots of runoff in the rivers, too.
