I realise that most participants in this group will be well aware of the partnership between Tony Benn and Roy Bailey so this is an abridged version of the press release for their forthcoming gig at The Priestley in Bradford.

CENTRE STAGE MANAGEMENT presents THE WRITING ON THE WALL:
An anthology of dissent in music and words with ROY BAILEY and TONY BENN
The Priestley, Chapel Street, Bradford
Sunday afternoon March 12th at 2.00pm

This selection of writings, speeches and songs records nearly a 1000 years of campaigning for justice, freedom and equality. The familiar voices of the Levellers, Chartists, suffragettes and early socialists appear besides those of unknown revolutionaries and radicals. Tony relates this tradition to current issues with his customary warmth and intelligent humour, leaving the stage set for Roy to illustrate his words with songs relating to the time and issue that he has talked about.
