Thanks, guys, for the suggestions. Hubby & I have bought a house we are going to rent out. A lot of things need doing, but the third bedroom has cheap panelling in it - not the real-wood kind but the really cheap stuff, although it is a light colour, sort of a dirty grey/beige. We are discussing whether to paint, leave it as it is or....
So, this discussion is very relevant at the moment. I like Bobert's idea to use a 3/8 inch knap roller.
One of the problems is that the panelling is all lined up so that the grooves match except for one part of the wall. It stands out like a sore thumb. It would be one reason to fill the grooves.
