Thread Name: Lyr Req: A Rainbow Made of Children (Lynn Baker)
Subject: RE: Rainbow Made of Children lyrics/artist?
Another one I enjoyed was Rainbow Made of Children. My brother and I learned it at a YMCA camp, and dearly loved it, and sang it together for many years after. Based on the lyrics, I suspect it was a 60's/70's hippie song, or at least had verses added then.

[chorus]
We're a rainbow
Made of children
We're an army singing songs
Ain't no weapon
That can harm us
Rainbow love is much too strong

I was born in Alabama,
Saying Yes Sir to the man.
When I found it got me nowhere,
I will never say it again.

[chorus]

I was taught that
Black was evil
I was taught that white was good
But in a rainbow made of children,
Every color's understood.

[chorus]

Old man Posey took his rifle,
Defending Mom and apple pie.
When I handed him a flower,
He just stopped and asked me why.

[chorus]
We're a rainbow
Made of children
We're an army singing songs
Ain't no weapon
That can harm us
Rainbow love is much too strong
