Thread Name: Lyr Req: Governor OK Allen (Leadbelly)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req. Governor O.K. Allen (Leadbelly)
I've listened to several sound samples, and found a few quotes, and have pieced them together as well as I can as follows. There are still some gaps:

GOVERNOR O. K. ALLEN

In nineteen an' hunder' an' thirty-two,
Hon'ble Gov'nor O. K. Allen, I'm 'ppealin' to you.

I left my wife, laid her head and cryin'.
Hon'ble Gov'nor O. K. Allen, send that man of mine.

The Hon'ble Mister ... looked over the pen.
Told Gov'nor O. K. Allen, "You got too many men."

Gov'nor O. K. Allen began to turn about.
"We got to make some 'rangements to turn some o' them out."

Then the Hon'ble Mister ...
Done made some 'rangements to let the men go home....

...had you, Governor O.K. Allen, like you had me,
I would wake up in the morning, let you out on reprieve....
